We undertake all our forensic gait analysis using a strict protocol:
The assessment of the CCTV footage for suitability for use in forensic gait analysis is based on the use of the process developed, tested and published by Birch et al 2013. This process considers key elements of both the footage itself, such as the frame rate and brightness, and of the content, such as the number of steps captured and the angle of the camera relative to the subject.
This assessment is undertaken for a nominal charge, which is subtracted from the final cost of analysis and report production, should the case proceed with the use of forensic gait analysis.
We take cognitive bias extremely seriously and therefore always review and make notes on the questioned footage before the reference footage is viewed.
All our reports are independently verified by another expert in the field of forensic gait analysis to ensure validity and quality.
